PROJECT : Building with Beads
Session One :
Creatives are introduced to the idea of beads as forming tactile sculptures.
Pipe-cleaner : allows for stimulated response of stringing each bead, without extranuous management of (elastic, nylon string etc.)

PROS 
- beads stay in place do to pipe-cleaner fibers 
-can easily be tied, knotted, or secured to a buckle clasp without adult assistance, a step in towards the strengthening of fine motor skills​​​​​​​
CHALLENGE TASK
- use a button to build a sculptural beaded design by using two or more beads between two button holes
GOAL
To introduce concept of sculptural beads, and how two-holed components can be strung through.
PROJECT : A Window to My Canvas
A multi-step project

Build Canvas Frame

Stretch choice of Fabric
(there are numerous methods of securing the fabric tp the canvas, thus developing problem solving and fine motor skills)

Layer
(using scraps of textured fabrics and a variety of strings, creatives will decorate by adding, securing, problem solving)

Destruction
(An opportunity to bring action to visual arts by means of simple destruction: ripping, tearing, stretching. Allowing a sense of surrender towards the outcome of the piece, focusing on present emotions and feeling while creating a dialogue with the piece at hand)

Reconstruction
'Tying it all together' using decoration (beads, sequins, paint) to create a stimulating tactile picture which emphasizes shape, spatial awareness, process through layering
